Topical EDTA is prepared using aseptic technique. 1.25 ml of Edetate disodium injection USP (150 mg/ml) & 8.75 ml of sterile water are mixed in  a disposable 10 ml syringe to make it  1.86%.  The syringe is shaken well to ensure proper mixing. The solution needs to be freshly prepared, as it has no preservative. This can be applied on the band Keratopathy using weck cell sponge.  I also use EDTA powder,  after autoclaving it in a paper cover. A small amount of it is placed directly on the band Keratopathy lesion. As the powder absorbs surrounding tear fluid, the calcium melts like snow!  EDTA can also be used  in Calcium hydroxide and Zinc chloride burns, topically, in a concentration of   1.85%  as irrigation for fifteen to twenty minutes.
