Welcome to AsianOphthalmology Journal

AsianOphthalmology was started on 6th of April 2006, as a discussion group on Yahoo for ophthalmologists , for Ophthalmic Nurses, Ophthalmic Assistants and for Optometrists. The group has been growing slowly but steadily and at this moment we have on an average about 200 message exchanges a month. It may not be much, but they sure are very high quality discussions.

As we moved forward with the discussions we realized that we needed a website to keep us updated with the latest research and methodologies in ophthalmology. We also felt the need for quality videos of various ophthalmology related procedures to be made available. Some of these things are already available on the internet but in most cases are expensive for those in the developing countries. Our endeavor would be to keep it free for as long as possible.

AsianOphthalmology Journal ( AO Journal ) is the latest addition the website. We have started it so that high quality peer reviewed articles are made available to ophthalmologists around the world. We would like to keep these articles free of cost for as long as possible. We would try to get the best teachers around the world to contribute with articles which are helpful in day to day practice of ophthalmology. We would invite anyone to submit articles which they think might be useful and helpful to our peers. These submitted articles would be reviewed by one or more of the members of the review board. Once it is cleared by the board, it would be put up for viewing. Hopefully this endeavor would prove useful and shall grow at a rapid pace.

Your feedback is absolutely necessary to make sure we are on the right track. Please do send me your views at sarbjit@mac.com.

Thank you,
